Summerville Dentistry warmly welcomes their newest associate, Dr. Lori Harrell. She grew up in south Louisiana and attended Louisiana State University (LSU) and McNeese State University, earning a degree in Biological Sciences in 2002. She married her husband, John, that same year and they set off for the adventures of an Army family. The Harrell family started their journey in Georgia, having two children and then moving to Germany. While abroad, Lori applied to dental school, as that had been her dream since high school, and her family subsequently moved back stateside where they welcomed their third child, and she graduated from the University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston in 2013.
Since then, Dr. Harrell has worn both hats of Army wife and mom and dentist. Over the years, she has moved at the desire of Uncle Sam, working as an associate in Katy and Fort Worth, Texas, as well as Virginia, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina. Her family was also stationed in Belgium, where they welcomed their youngest child. She maintained her clinical skills and passion for serving others as a Red Cross volunteer at an Army Dental Clinic in Italy.
Dr. Harrell is thrilled to be back in Georgia and have the opportunity to put down roots for her family, finally establishing herself with an amazing practice. She looks forward to serving the community through dentistry, her church, and being active in her kids' schools and activities. In her free time, she loves to read, exercise, be outside, and support her family. With her older two in college, she'll be cheering for Notre Dame and Wake Forest University when football season rolls around!
